Mangroves in the Anthropocene: Climate Change and Conservation Challenges

Mangroves are one of the most efficient and effective natural tools for mitigating and adapting to global change in tropical and subtropical coasts. This seminar series thus focuses on the environmental impacts on, and mangrove response to, global change and on the outcomes of restoration and improved capacities of mangroves to mitigate pressures from global change.

Contributing Institutions and Organizations: Federal University of Ceará (Brazil), Queen Mary, University of London (UK), Université de Toulon (France), Fairfield University (USA), Helmholtz Institute for Functional Marine Biodiversity (Germany), Alfred Wegener Institute (Germany), University of Oldenburg (Germany).

The IIES is pleased to offer a FREE online seminar series focusing on Mangroves in the Anthropocene: Climate Change and Conservation Challenges. The series runs every Wednesday* from March 27 to May 29, 2024. Each week join a speaker from one of the contributing universities or organizations who will share their research and expertise. Lectures run approximately 45 mins with a short Q&A to follow. The talks are FREE and available to anyone interested. Please see below for seminar information:
