We’re excited to announce the tentative dates for our upcoming Science & Policy Workshop and Graduate Student Forum held this year in Santiago, Chile from December 11-15, 2023 (updated).
At the Workshop we will welcome the Strategic Minerals Institute (SMI) located in Santiago, but part of Queensland University into membership in the IIES. SMI will act as host for the meeting which will have a strong focus on issues related to strategic mineral extraction including environmental contamination, water usage and indigenous land issues. As well the meeting will have sessions (among others) on microplastics and other emerging contaminants and blue and circular economies. As in the past the graduate forum will focus on networking with students from around the globe and on professional development.
