Improving Water Security |  UNA Europa Seminar Series

The UNA Europa online seminar series brings together academic experts from across Europe and Africa to discuss environmental and social issues centred on water. The overarching theme is “improving water security” but the presentations touch on many pillars of the International Institute for Environmental Studies, for example water quality and emerging pollutants relating to environmental health. This is a unique opportunity to hear the views of numerous international experts studying various aspects of water. Our presenters span four different universities and many departments, thus offering multidisciplinary and international insights. This series is in partnership with UNA Europa, ahead of the 9th Annual Science & Policy Workshop at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg from April 7-8, 2025.

Contributing Institutions and Organizations: The University of Edinburgh (Scotland), University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa), Jagiellonian University (Poland), Universiteit Leiden (The Netherlands).

The series runs from November 20, 2024 to March 5, 2025. Each scheduled lecture, join a speaker from one of the contributing universities who will share their research and expertise. Lectures run approximately 45 mins with a short Q&A to follow. The talks are FREE and available to anyone interested. Please see below for seminar information:
