November 16, 2019, Shanghai Jiaotong University (SJTU) celebrated the 20th anniversary of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering (SESE). The ceremony had over 200 guests and included speeches from government members, alumni, and prominent Chinese academicians. IIES Board member Professor Yong Geng is the School’s Dean.
IIES Director, Professor Emeritus Douglas Evans attended the ceremony and was invited to speak on behalf of the Institute. Professor Raimund Bleischwitz (University College London), IIES participant and recent plenary speaker at the 5th Annual IIES Workshop, also spoke at the celebration.
The School, which was formally established in 1999, offers undergraduate and graduate degrees, including doctoral programs. There are two departments in the School of Environmental Science and Engineering and eight research institutes. The IIES offers its congratulations to Shanghai Jiaotong University’s School of Environmental Science and Engineering.
